The first thread Didn't show up so I have to repost.

When I hit auto attack with my melees it switches targets. Also with my wizzy when I use assist and turn off the auto attack it switches targets which is a pain sometimes. I know I could turn off the auto attack for assist but then I forget to change it back with my melees and sometimes die because of it. Maybe it's the button I use for auto attack which is ` the button above the tab button. If it is the button I use what should I change it to.

This was happening to me too, and I realized that it was because the ` key was mapped to both Attack and Target Nearest Creature. So I removed the Target Nearest Creature keymapping in the Options in-game menu. However, this actually wasn't too much of a benefit, because sometimes you really do want to quickly target and attack a mob. So I just re-trained myself to just click or /assist and hit "1" to attack normally, and only use the ` autoattack when necessary.

Game on,

in a recent patch they changed ~ to be 'target closest mob' since it was so hard for newbs to hit F8 . unfortunatly they didnt tell anybody , causing countless mezzed mobs to be attacked , people assisting not being able to join in the fight , etc . i have always put my melee attack in the first hotkey so it didnt bother me , in fact its pretty convenient to hit ~ then 1 to target the nearest mob then attack .

Thank you. My main problem with this was with my wizzy changing targets in a large pull so I would have to have auto attack on during spellcasting wich got annoying but now I know the problem. Thank you again.

I have had this problem too, but not always using the ` key. I use an assist key to get my target from the puller, and have still ended up smacking the wrong target on occasion (particularly annoying in the dungeon when you end up smacking that "bitten victim" that you wanted to leave alone). Is there anything else that could be causing this?
