Halfling Paladin newbie armor quest questionFollow

I got the Bravefoot Gauntlets quest. I have all the items I was told to get. When I put them in the forge, nothing happens. I keep getting a bad recipe, even though I'm putting in exactly what I'm supposed to, unstacked.

Here's what I'm told:

Quote:
To assemble Bravefoot Gauntlets you will need to obtain two bricks of crude iron ore and smelt them in a [forge] with a Water Flask and this crude Gauntlet Mold. Once that is done combine the Crude Iron Gauntlets with a Ruined Wolf Pelt and two Large Yellowjacket Tarsus in the Mail Assembly Kit.

Here's what I do:

1) Click the forge.
2) Put 2 crude iron ores, 1 water flask, and gauntlet mold in forge.
3) Click combine (or whatever its called)
4) Read bad recipe prompt.

Am I suppoed to be skilled in something in order to do this? I'm assuming I'm supposed to get crude iron gauntlets from this first combo, but all I get is some red text and all my crap back.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are doing everything you say you are doing, everything should turn out correctly and you should get the Crude Iron Gauntlets. The only thing I can think of that you may be doing wrong is keeping the ore in a set of two. You must have both of the bricks seperated and put into their own slots in the Forge, same with all other recipes that call for more than one of the same item.

You do not have to have a single point in smithing or whatever tradeskill it uses to do the newbie armor quests. The combines are no-fail. Also, when you fail to craft an item when you press combine, your items will dissappear and you will get a message like this: "You lacked the skill needed to fashion the items together."

Er, thanks. I'll try it again, and if I still fail I'll jot down the specifics.

OK, if this doesn't give off a giant screaming NEWBIE beacon, I don't know what does.

Silly me, I didn't know there was a difference between a vale forge and a forge.

I'll get this crap figured out, eventually.
