Once upon time, Rut had been working hard raising dosh for his misses annual holiday trip to the Plains Of Tranquility which she demanded after finding out about his secret liasons with the hairy druid chick. Anyway, one job he had been doing on the side was getting together a few BlackBurrow casks to obtain the Jagged Pine Cloak which he thought would be rather dapper adourned upon his back.
After a few lucky breaks, first twanging a master brewer at the back end of a train and then zoning in and finding 1 in situ, our Rut's blagged himself a couple of casks. Alas, Rut's ran into an old pal via Norrath-Reunited which he hadn't seen since his early days at Fletching Primary School. Now this mate had done rather nicely making a killing in the real estate market by buying up huge amounts of land in a swamp area that suddenly became trendy with a funny froggy race that appeared out of now where!! Cut a long story short this geezer lent Rut a few plat that enabled him to buy a better cloak than the one he had been working for.
So Rut's got two casks, that are useful to carry things as they weigh less than a backpack, but Rut could remember reading something from the Daily Great God Of Forums tabloid about other poeple selling off the casks for a lot of plat to Rogues, who needed them for a quest they had.
But unfortunately his misses had used the paper to line the bottom of the cage of the kids pet Mytosis bat and it was ruined.
Can anybody help as to whether the casks can be sold and if so whats the best way of going around it. They are not accepted in the bazzar for a token so where is the best place to advertise, get them flogged.... that's if they are worth anything!! Or if anybody can remember where the original story was printed?

OK, let me start by saying that that was very hard to follow. 
But, if I understood you right, you are asking if these casks can be sold, correct?
Right click on them in inventory. The description box will pop up. Along the top, right under the name, it will either say NO DROP, or it wont say NO DROP. If it DOES say NO DROP, then you CANNOT sell it.
If it does not say NO DROP, though, you can sell it. Now, the only way to sell containers, as they cannot be put in other containers, is to go to the bazaar and use the /auction command repeatedly, and hope somebody bothers to read it.
Most people, myself included, dont bother reading the ooc's and auctions while there.

The cask is used in a rogue quest that used to be part of the rogue epic quest but apparently can be worked around so it doesn't have as much value there as it could. One of the posts in the item page says it's needed for the Grandmaster seal, but I don't play a rogue so I wouldn't know. Your best bet might just be to ask for a pricecheck on it in the Bazaar or PoK. I'm not sure if you'll get a great answer, but I'm thinking it's one of those things whose price depends very heavily on how desperate the buyer is, if you can find a buyer at all.

The casks are also used for a monk quest as well.....I sell them for 200pp at least.....I have sold at least 30 of them in the last year...
Just a FYI, but you can sell containers in the Bazaar. You have to give them to a female NPC standing in front of the merchant building. She will give you a token, named "Token of a X", X being the name of your container. You then put the token in your trader satchels. When somebody buys it, they take it to her and she'll give them the container.

Which NPC? Can we get a name. Would hate to give a Rallic Sac to the wrong NPC and have her keep it. LOL.

Quick update, flogged them off real quick for 250pp a piece, hmmmm maybe worth a bit more????
You can sell weight reduction containers in /trader in the bazaar by giving them to the barbarian female guard at the entrance to the merchant building. No, I don't recall her name, but if you hail her, she will tell you the drill. Amazing what a hail will do sometimes.
What worries me about the bag-check girl is she doesn't look very bright. How do I know that it is MY Rallic Pack she gives someone who buys the token. I'd hate to think of the mess she must have in there.
