Friday - Ding 62! Go me! Smiley: grin

Saturday - Received valuable psychoanalysis in another thread - Seems I'm suffering from false memory syndrome, so thanks for the diagnosis Leiany Smiley: wink
Ding 32 with my Beastlord, and my son's Dru hit 55 (Go Dracoid!) but housework caught up with me Smiley: frown

Sunday - Sunshine? Mild Weather? In England, in January? Run to the hills! (So we did - a nice ramble up the Malverns).
Then made up a nice un-ding buffer for my druid in Veksar (25% and an AA in 2 hrs - nice)

Monday - RL Employer Faction Quest. Smiley: frown
You know those days when you can't be bothered levelling, tradeskilling or anything? Just want to stand around in PoK catching up on gossip and watching for the occasional witty OOC? Yep, Me too! Smiley: waycool

Througout some spare hours at the weekend my new Enchanter made it to 12th and I wonder how I made it before without the Gate Spell.

Going home with a simple click rocks - ESPECIALLY back from the Bazaar without having that 15 min. schedule of teleporting :)))

Friday: /gasp. Roommate didn't pay the cable bill so no internet. So, rather than let it bother me I headed off to the bar with some friends. After many pints I am shoved in a car to return home.

Saturday: Sleep until 3pm then hangover food. Watched a couple movies, went to sleep.

Sunday: Joy. Internet's back up. Went to Kedge to camp the seahorse with a druid buddy then did an EC adventure. Logged the alt for a while and worked fletching.

Monday: Work. :(

Friday: worked yet another 3am shift, kind of making me a zombie for most of the day. Inadvertantly gave Darkflame some computer advice that did not work as well as intended, but it got straightened out in the end.

Saturday: Played everquest for a little while. Put together a decent LDON pickup group on bertox, and we rocked the cazbah. Was fun. Got most of the way through another AA. I need to get on a stupid naggy raid to pick up that burnt sash thing soon though, I'm tired of holding at 52 just for that.

Sunday: Played a bit of SWG, and a bit of an online game of a different sort. I think there is now some computer user in South Korea who won't be scanning my IP range any time soon again. Is difficult to get those twerps shut down becuase the ISP didn't have anyone that spoke english. Finally resulted to "alternative" tactics. Problem solved.

The race to be the first to break Angry Hippo's posting count is heating up. So far Jophial is in the lead still by about 14, and Hippo mysteraiously seems to have gained another 30 posts since last count. Oh well, it's all part of the fun! So place yer bets folks, this is the epic battle of our time, 4 years in the making.

This weekend saw much happiness for Shards of Chaos.

Saturday
=========

It was decided to spank the dragon Xanamech in the Plane of Innovation for the factory flag and upgrades. He died with only a few sacrifices (summoned slowers Smiley: laugh). Some lucky Shards received his 41% haste choker and his caster ring.

Next Target was Banord Paffa in the Ruins of Lexi(thingy) (oh come on, you cannot expect me to remember how to spell it!). The fat man died to our first attempt to kill him and was a easy fight. He dropped a nice FTII mask for one of our plethora of chanters.

Sunday
========

I attended as a guest on a raid with my old guild "Forgotten Nemesis". We killed Tallon Zek once more, this time he dropped his bow as well as a Wizzie or two. It seems loot for FN is directly proprotional in quality to how many wizzies die Smiley: laugh.
I then joined them for most of a fight in the Ruins of Lex(thingy).
Much fun was had in one room. We killed a nasty but the room he was in has an amusing property. Every time a person on the raid dies, 3 or 4 level 60 or so skeletons pop on the raid. These kill more people ... more skeles pop. Needless to say it is a chain reaction. I personally ended up tanking about 70 skeletons on weaponshield disc while taking a few glugs of my thurg gate potion. I lived! I was told that 132 skeles were on track in the end.
In the course of the raid I realised I miss my old guild a LOT. However I just cannot make their raid times anymore. I hope to keep on guesting sometimes when I am available Smiley: smile I Smiley: inlove FN

So, to the SoC raid!

Scouting showed that nothing was up in norrath but for Vindi and Rumblecrush. These are only snacks so we decided to kill Xanamech once more to flag a few more guildies and take his loots. He died to us even with no bards for resist song in a near flawless fight. The 41% haste choker and a nice caster weapon dropped for us.

Next was a mess. We ran to Kael with Vindi spanking in our minds for faction to find that while we were busy in Plane of Innovation that another guild was inhabiting Kael. So we run to Umbral Plains to take a quick shot at Rumblecrush to find another guild had only just setup to attempt him Smiley: frown We ended up crawling in Griegs end and taking some minor loots from named there. Upgrades were had but the risk was missing. How dare other guilds kill OUR targets! *pout*

Killed Coirnav and Xegony, racing another guild to each of them. I actually like racing, as it cuts our dinking around / prep time to about 10% of normal.

Took a few people to Sky to complete a couple of mage epics. Only one crown dropped so my mage has to wait a while longer. Oh well, one happy mage at least.

Time rotation starts tonight - we're shifting from 3/3/3 to 2/2/2. Hoping for a non-dorked-up instance.

Friday - No EQ, played board games at a friends house.

Saturday - Did some minor messing around, xp grinding then took wife out for some much needed R&R. Guild decided to do AD in Valor for backflagging.

Sunday - BOOYAA! Rallos Zek went down on our second attempt. Too bad he only gives out 72 flags - too bad I was watching a play while he was preparing for his 3 day dirt nap. Later went to Sol Ro for some xp grindage.

Edit: I just read a post about Saryrn and the elemental/time guilds. There's 4 guilds in PoTime rotating through with an additional 5 guilds in the elementals. Gonna be very slim pickings in the elementals.

I've never posted to this thread - really enjoy reading it tho. Have to post this time tho because I think our little family group may have set a new record for ineptitude in LDoN. We NEVER do well in these adventures but this was the worst ever - wiped in the entry room on the first pull. Rezzed everyone and went to Skyfire - 46 people in there, and very slim pickings on the mobs - gave up there and ran into Burning Woods and beat up on the Wurms and giants in there with a group of 56's. No danger there and they, surprisingly were all DB to us. Actually managed to finish an AA on both of the toons I ws playing. That was Friday night. Took of for RL things Saturday and Sunday till about 6:oopm, then went into Dulak to do a boat. Got the Dandy and made some good plat - not much XP for us there anymore and we still haven't gotten the hang of Windscorn. Guess we'll have to bite the bullet and start going into one of the Planes.

Bah, Hippo's a farmer. Always has been, always will be. I pride myself (such as it is) in my farm-free post count Smiley: wink

Friday, did a couple Everfrost LDoN's, trying to get my ranger friend his chain tunic. On the second one, I made a bunch of eBay mistakes and we called it quits. Sometimes you're in the groove, sometimes you just suck.

Saturday, spent a couple of the suck-boring-est hours of my EQ career in a kite group in Halls of Honor. Eventually recruited a friend into the group just to have someone to exchange snarky tells with about how dull it was. Yeah, I made 3AA in a few hours, but it drained the life right out of me.

Sunday, took my 62 bard slumming with a LDoN pick-up group of lvls 55-57. It was pretty funny to do, and I gave up on any pretense of lull or crowd control about a third of the way through and we stomped all over it. Went with a friend and we did some 3-person LDoNs in Ruj Hills (he two boxes a ranger and a druid) which we won without much trouble. Only made about 90% of an AA, but it beat the hell out of chasing Guardians of Marr around.

Beat Synarcana again recently (this Friday, I think? Kind of blurs). He's the Miragul Time-level LDoN raid that was mentioned in the awesome Curt Schilling Challenge(tm). We had a great clearing getting to him, with 72 minutes left to go. We had killed him before, but over the course of the next hour or so I learned that there were still a few quirks to him I hadn't understood the first few times. By 'learned', I mean had 'driven into my skull by utter and complete failure'.

He's actually a really interesting encounter. Interesting, however, doesn't necessarily mean fun - he's a puzzle mob, which means that once you know how to beat him losing can be that much more frustrating. It sort of reminds me of what the Rathe council would be like if it wasn't so straightforward, but about a billion times faster in the actual fight and with an hour clearing before it. When he finally died, the universal reaction was less, "Huzzah! We win at life!" than, "Jesus, we retards finally managed to not ***** it up". Oh, and we got two more nodrop beastlord-only gloves without a beastlord there. Score! We did, however, get a 70 hp aug and a shielding aug, so I think it was about worthwhile. I think it's something of a record that this was probably the first load from a Time-level LDoN raid that I thought was better than an elemental-level LDoN raid. If your guild does any LDoN raid, the Mistmoore elemental-level has by far the best risk vs reward.

I do think the raid will be enormously easy now that we pretty much have a step-by-step blueprint of how not to ***** it up. That means, of course, that we'll probably fail our next half-dozen attempts at him until GoD comes out, at which point we'll merrily skip off into the unknown wonders of the next expansion and leave these terrible memories behind.

Friday, Sat, Sun - "Honey-do" all over the place...

Very little EQ - that which I did have, was short-lived due to some form of connectivity problems. Couldn't seem to stay on for more than 15 minutes, then LINKDEAD! Augggh! Time and time again... in Unrest with my Pally... in the bazzar with my mule... and Field of Bone with my Iksar monk (he's so cute - he's 5!)

Someone told me to check my ISP. I have Cox Cable Internet access, through a Linksys router. Anyone know how to correct the problems? No changes had been made to the system - what would cause a weekend of LD problems?

Went to a Hockey game with some friends, got drunk and had a great time.

Saturday:

Work…Bla!

Did some farming that night, nothing to exciting.

Sunday:

Made a guest appearance at the SoC raid. We win; I believe it’s all because of me being there. God, are they ever lucky to have me.

I rock

Knocked out a couple of LDoNs successfully.
Played NWN with wife.

Saturday
Attended SoC Guild Raids in PoI and PoD - Note to self: When killed, DO NOT GO AFK for making coffee (no matter how badly needed and for taking a tinkle break. Instead, stand by for fast rez, thereby not missing out on getting keyed. Yes, I am that clueless to the big raid scene. Ah well, learn as I go, hehe...

Sunday
Pigged out on wonderful brunch at the Sheraton Palace Hotel in downtown San Francisco with wife and her family to celebrate her grandmother's 90th birthday. She is in amazing health and could easily pass for someone in her 70s...which at 90, I think that's pretty damn good!

Hopped on EQ when I got back - knocked out another couple of LDoNs and dinged to 52! Later on, got to see how the big kids play in HoH and had fun killing big-*** guardians (who, coincidentally, in fact have no ***). Got a full yellow bubble into 52...Now trying to decide if I should grind out one more AA point to get my Baron title or focus on getting to 53...

Good EQ weekend overall!

Go on PoI raid with SoC and learn that casting Rune near Xana immediately before the fight starts is a good way to be on the top of his **** list. Got one rounded and had the lesson pounded into my Enchie skull. Got rezzed in for Factory flag nonetheless. Helped with CC on the Paffa prefight and fight. I had forgotten what it was like to be the low enchie on the totem pole. Sorta felt like excess baggage. Too low to mezz, slows to low to be useful, buffs to low to be of use, nukes for laughable amounts of dmg.

Sunday:
Revist PoI and this time lived through the whole fight runing the MA and the clerics as needed. I was useful really I was! The romp in Griegs was nice to see the zone since the revamp. I've been out of it for awhile, I miss those mobs that shapechange everyone, it made it amusing for part of the journey there at least.

Installed EQWatcher since the guild uses it to call slows nowadays. Downloaded extra voices to get rid of Microsoft (Sam/Mary/Mike). Switched to the Jarlo standard set of triggers to cover BL/Necro slow calls and dinked around with a tash trigger in the spells section. Want to add other resist debuffs as well but haven't got tash working 100% right now it annouces "mumble is tash'ed" instead of "a fire beetle is tash'ed". Perhaps I will add cripple in as well, but there are other debuffs that go in that cripple doesn't stack with and it would get difficult to have them all announced.

Was at a Shards of Chaos raid for the first time in about 3 months. I had actually forgotten how cool raids can be, and had a real blast on the Xana raid. A bit lonely being the only one in group 5 (5 minutes late for raid time, hehe), although we picked up some folks along the way.

Very nice to see the returned SoC crew again (Aras, Issie, Zeldagis), and the pinnacle of the evening would be Jennock's comment in /raidsay, when he called one of our clerics 'Farkuwa' instead of Darkuwa. Needless to say everyone burst out in laughter while I took screenshots of /rs and the zone (soon to be seen on our boards.. hehe).

The Xana fight was easier than I thought, with only a few deaths (who, coincidentally, all post here. Haha. /wink). Paffa was even easier, as he didnt even get the chance to spawn adds on us. Lots of nice loot and fun.

I think I am going to dump my girlfriend, or tie her to our bed during raid times. I miss the fun. :(

Not too much to add to the other SOC reports, although I did get that 41% haste item RARRR. Also managed to ding 65 before the weekend 8)

Did some super fun LDON with Twinkletoes and co. No CC no Paci. War, Rng, Pal, Nec, Shaman, Clr-- The warrior would just run into a room and come back with 3-4 on him-- ae slow and i would peel off the shaman while the necro put dot's on all of them. Was INSANELY fun and of course we won with plenty of time to spare. God I love playing in good gorups without a chanter, just makes for crazy fun times.

Got in a nice tactics group pre-raid on Sunday with a good bard. Pounded out to Natural Durability 1 and got Aadyn a tact bulwark off the piggy and he later won an ornate silk bracer pattern that he gave to me for my RL necro friend. I love this guild 8)

Overall I am having an amazing time with pally. Pretty easy to get in groups and easy to pull a group together if I need to. Group heals are the bomb for AE mobs.. 660 hp for alll my friends!
