N00b To Bazzar need helpFollow

#1 Jan 22 2004 at 6:32 PM Rating: Default
Just came back to EQ after 3 yrs. away. So much has changed.
Any help on understanding how to sell in bazzar would be appreciated. I hear you need a bag or token or certain type of container to sell there. Is that true and where do I get one, anything else I need to know?
Thanks.

You buy the bag from a male vendor standing alone behind a counter in the large merchant area between the two banks. They aweigh 25 lbs so can't leave bazaar if you have several of them without weight problems. In the bazaar itself weight does not count. Then just put your items inside, go stand in one of the areas where the other traders are, and type /trader and hit begin trader button on the new window. Then set prices. You can look for comparable items using /bazaar, to help set your prices.

There can only be 550 traders in the bazaar. Your welcome button on the bazaar screen tells you how many traders there are currently. If you want to buy something you can hit find trader and it will put a path to the trader.

Best is to get a "mule" new toon so he can have all 16 bank slots full of merchandise. Then in your shared bank space you can put 2 deluxe toolboxes to transfer items from all your other toons. Get your mule bound in the bazaar. Hope this helps, there is probably lots more.

You do in fact need a Trader Satchel (sp?) This can be bought from an npc vendor in the bazaar for something like 5sp. The npc that sells it is in the south eastern corner of the npc merchant area. Once you have the satchel you will need to get in a trading stall. To open the trader window type /trader of alt+i should also open it. In this window you can set your prices and, once they are set, hit the begin trader. Be sure not to gate out of the bazaar or otherwise leave it with your trader satchels as you will be heavily encumbered and encumberence does not apply in the bazaar.
I hope this has been more helpful than confusing.

Edit: Also fun to get your toon good and liquered up while in trader mode. Good way to get alchohol tolerance up.

The merchants name that sells trader satchels is Tekrama.

A tip for buying items, when you find an item you would like to purchase make sure you search it out by name and not a generalized search. This may show more people selling the item and some may have lower prices.

Another good idea is to keep looking up future upgrades well before youre ready to buy them so you will know a good deal when you see one. When I was in my mid 40s I had already purchased quite a few of my 60+ spells because I knoew the prices were low.

Be sure not to exit the bazaar if very encumbered, you may zone out and then not be able to move as there is no encumberance in the bazaar.
