Posted one that appeared blank for 3 hrs then itre-appeared with original content, but option to edit only appeared 4 hrs later

glad to hear its not just me. bump up the raiting on this thread and lets see if we can get the attention of the IT dep. for allah.
Eventually it'll probably spit all those exess posts back up. That'll be amusing.
yes sadly it will spit them all out, thus making the server work even harder, thus clogging things up even more, thus slowing things down yet more..

I'd bump the rating on this thread but it seems that anytime I post someone immediately downgrades my rating. Once upon a time I had a 3.X rating. Did I mention this rating thing really sucks? =(

I think someone is camping your rateings.
How does this rating thing work? I am thoroughly confused. In this thread my rating reads as a 4.10 and all of a sudden I post in a new thread (not less than 10 hours later) and my rating is a 2.25?!?!
Do ratings count specifically in a thread you post in or is it some sort of cumulative thing? If it is the latter someone is really ******** with me. =(

In basic terms Any give post has its own rating...
The average of ALL you posts is the rating NEW posting start with but after that they have a life of thier own. However they do factor into the average for yor next new post.
For exacmple My rating latly has been 3.45 The rating on 4 new posts in a row were
3.45
3.44
3.44
3.45
that tells me one of my posts got rated down a tad and for a day my average dropped .01 but after a day another (or same) post got rated up and that rasied my average back up to 3.45
Did that make any sense?

thanks guys. this is really a great site, and i enjoy coming here to both learn and help.
i just find it extreemly frustrating when posts get eaten, or it takes over 30seconds to open/reply to a post etc.
Snarl, i would agree, it would sound like someone is stalking you. the raiting system here is nice, but yes has some flaws.
i will say it is better then just modded forums though.
