Asking for a little adviceFollow

Hey, I am in Iraq right now and I have played EQ for auite a long time prior to my deployment almost a year ago. I am planning on starting up again when I get home. Since I have been deployed I have tried to keep up with the events going on in Norrath by reading forums. It seems that the game has taken a drastic turn towards faster kills being king. When I get back I am going to play either a bard, ranger, or shaman. I don't want to know which is better, I just want to know which ones are sought after in groups and for what. I mean shure a shaman might be on everyone's list to group with but will I just be buffing and sowing now that dot's are fairly usless since most mobs die under 45 seconds? Now that the bard pacify is nerfed would I not be pulling anymore andback to Hey mister manna man sing me a song? How about a ranger, does his improved DPS get him into groups now, even with his lower ac and hp? Please offer only constructive advice. I have been researching all the classes and narrowed it down to these three. Now I want to know what I will be doing with each so I can make a more informed decision. Thanks for your info.

If you are a good Bard then you will be welcome in groups, as far as i am aware bards are still good pullers <unless they have changed it in the last week anyway. but if you want to ensure you can group then i would advise taking a shammy, slowers are very important in PoP and haste makes the world go around.
Besides shammies are fun to solo aswell
Rangers are uber dps in late game but there is alot of competion for the dps position in groups.

I would say take the class you enjoy most as it is the standard line when people ask thses sort of class questions but since you ask i think your guildlines for what you want point to shammy.

You could always roll all 3 and see how it goes Smiley: grin

Bards: pulling and CC

Shammies: haste , slow , buff and a bit of DPS when mana permits

Ranger: dps dps dps and tryy not too get hit if posible <my wife also takes recponcibility for snares in LDoN.
