Dustwallow Marsh is a hot, fetid swampland in Kalimdor that is eternally wet and muddy due to the multitudes of underground springs feeding it from underground. The area is home to many different predators such as crocolisks, murlocs and aggressive undead who prey on any and all who enter the zone. Members of the Black Dragonflight dwell in the southern end of the swamp and there are so many of them that this area has come to be called "the Wyrmbog". To the east is a rocky island that holds the stronghold of Theramore, a landing point for Alliance players venturing into the area.

To counter this Alliance stronghold, in the western edge of the Marsh, the Stonemaul ogres have formed an alliance with the Horde and allow them to use their outpost at Brackenwall Village.

An Alliance 21+ trying to get to neutral territory (Ratchet, Booty Bay). Is it easier to go through here to Barrens, or go back and try to run Stranglethorn. If here, what is the route from Theramore to Barrens?

There's a super easy way to get to Brackenwall Village if you don't want to travel through Dustwallow Marsh. In the Barrens around Raptor Grounds (south of Stagnant Oasis), you can run up the hills to get up top on the mountains on the border between Dustwallow and The Barrens. You can then just run south and then carefully descend at the back of Brackenwall Village.

Man, I should have visited Dustwallow Marsh some time ago. I had several quests that tried to steer me this way, and I ended up dropping them. A mistake, in hindsight.

I just visited today - and after only about 1/2 a day's worth of play, I've found items that were equal or superior to what I already have, but that's after playing up to lvl 44. I could have had these items a while ago!

When I found Stranglehorn Vale, I thought I had a zone I could work for a while. Then, the Barrens, but that grew tiresome very quickly. I don't know how long DM will last, but so far it's been very rewarding - and, I haven't even visited Theramore yet, one of my quest locations.

Now enough of this, I'm off to play! . . .

I agree, I leveled from 37 to 41 in about 6 hours doing only quests.

This is now an excellent alternative to leveling in STV, for horde at least. Two towns, along with a few scattered npcs to give quests. If you're on a pvp server, I'd definitely come here at lvl 35.

There's level 41-43 elites down south that you can hunt for up to mageweave x 5 and 10 silvers. The little dragonlings also drop whelplings that you can sell for 100g-200g.

I started coming here at around level 48 and still got decent xp/loot doing them.
