Ashenvale is a level 18-30 zone in northen Kalimdor. It is primarily a Night Elf zone, but does have Horde outposts and Horde quests. It is most easily reached from Darkshore or the Barrens, and leads to Felwood, Azshara and Stonetalon Mountains.

Travel To

Alliance

From Auberdine in Darkshore, follow the main road south into Ashenvale then stay on the road headed south. It will then turn east to take you to the main stronghold of Astranaar.

Horde

From the Crossroads (in the Barrens), travel north past the Mor'shan Rampart and follow the road into Ashenvale. When you get to the fork in the road, turn east and look to your left to see Splintertree Post.

take the underground tram for stormwind to ironforge. Exit ironforge into dun moroguh and then run through the wetlands. go to menethil harbor in the wetlands and take a boat to darkshore. Run to ashenvale

After 3 really lousy deaths last night trying to find my cookbook... I can say yes, it is still missing. I couldn't find the retreat listed, but I thought I was on the right path... but without a useable map, I have no idea.

If I'd found this post last night, I'd have not bothered trying to find the book... hours of walking/boating/walking here from the Span...(I sold my food to make up the 1gold) then... walk out of the graveyard, die to bears, or spiders... walk the other way, die to ?? mobs that I didn't know what they were... none of the npcs that talk about the book made it sound dangerous, nor did the posts I'd found here ;(

all that and still no cookbook... and Lots of silver to repair my 0 armor (sighs)

the cook book is easy enough to get , you walk along the road from astranaar so its safe enough , keep a look on the right for a group of furbogs ? past them you will see the silverwing post from the road at most you will have to kill 2 of them to get to the post it is that simple if you want cords its about 51-54 along the road and post is 50-65
