Durotar is the starter zone for the Orc and Troll races. It contains the city of Orgrimmar and feeds into The Barrens. A player can also run to Azshara to the north of Durotar.

Travel Paths

The Horde capital of Orgrimmar is found here and is a major travel spot for Horde players. In addition to the flightmaster in the city, there are also two goblin run Zeppelin towers to either side of the main gate to the citadel that take players to Thunderbluff, across the Great Sea to the Eastern Kingdoms or north to the frozen continent of Northrend at Warsong Hold.

I had just made a orc Shaman and I had finished all the quests I had to do in the valley of trials and i was leaving to make my way to Sen'Jin village. Then this troll riding his raptor came riding into the valley of trials and asked me if i would sign his guild charter, so i did. He also gave me 10 gold for signing it.So i walked to Org and went to the auction house and bought me some sweet +1 attribute gear and a wand for ranged combat. I could do all the quests in the Echo Iles solo. When it was all done I got to about level 11

Actually... I like this area more than most starting areas. The quests are lined up extremely well. The only two quests that are trouble are Dark Storms and the Burning Eye gem that drops from the boss in Skull Rock.

Not to mention that most people that don't start in this area never get the Hidden Enemies quest which nets some awesome green gear for a level 13.
