This is the starting zone for all Draenei players.

You awaken on an island to the east of Azuremyst, in a protected valley called Ammen Vale, your injuries healed, ready to assist in the revival of other survivors of the crash of The Exodar.

To the west, through a pass in the hills, lies Ammen Ford and the main island.

Travel Paths

There are really only two ways to reach Kalimdor from the islands. The main way is by boat so Azuremyst tends to be a seldom-visited area. This boat leaves from the dock near the Exodar and travels to Auberdine in Darkshore. In addition, there is one flight path from Azuremyst that goes to Blood Watch on Bloodmyst Isle nearby.

moongraze woods (needed for exploration achievement) is just north of the eastern road to ammen vale
- also a bit south of emberglade - probably all over the place but helps to know

So the problem is that while on the boat my friend cannot go there and gets thrown into the woods of Auberdine. She has installed burning crusade and also cannot make a Dranai or Blood Elf. Does it have something to do with her first character has to be from the original? Can't figure it out and wanted to ask here before I put in a ticket. Please someone have an answer for me!!!!

Really late response but just in case - Sounds like an Installation issue if she can't create TBC characters. GMs arent really equipped to deal with Technical issues like this though so it may be a case of ringing Blizz tech support. Hope you've been sorted by now already :)

Why is it that not all can go there? Wanted to fight and play with a buddy but she cannot go. When she takes the boat it throws her into the woods of Auberdine.

This page says Azuremyst Isle is part of the Kalimdor continent, however when traveling here by boat, there is a zone load transition like the Dark Portal and Deeprun Tram. The Exodar flight master also shows no flight connections to anywhere on Kalimdor continent, even though I can use them all. This area is separate form Kalimdor like Outland is from the Eastern Kingdoms. Fortunately I can port here as a mage, but everyone else is stuck using the boat from Auberdine I guess. ^_^;;

Well technically it's not their homeland. They just kind of based themselves out of this zone after their ship crashed. And it's Draenei but I agree with Darkrenn that some people don't actually know that kind of stuff considering the zone is fairly new with the addition of The Burning Crusade.
