The only time you cast Drain Soul is when the monster is about dead and has probably already turned it's attention from your voidwalker to you, and since the damage it does it over time the last thing you want is to have it interrupted and go away right before the damn thing dies. Also good for drain life and drain mana, one of the uber talent builds to have
