Objectives

Find Metzen the Reindeer. Use the notes provided to you for clues as to where he is being held.

When you find Metzen, have the Pouch of Reindeer Dust in your possession so you can sprinkle some of the dust on him; this should free Metzen from his bonds of captivity.

Return the Pouch of Reindeer Dust to Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge once Metzen is freed.

Description

DISASTER has struck! Metzen the Reindeer has been kidnapped!

Metzen is one of Greatfather Winter's eight reindeer - and property of Smokywood Pastures. We've received not one but TWO ransom letters from groups claiming to have Metzen. With the holiday season well under way, we're strapped to the coin box here! Please - find Metzen and return him to us!

Check out the ransom letters for clues, and sprinkle this reindeer dust on him - it will free him from any of his bonds!

Please, hurry!

Additional Notes

He is both at 67,34 in Searing Gorge, and at 73,47 in Tanaris. both "guards" are around lvl 45.

Everyone makes mistakes. You can laugh at them or be laughed at as you laugh at them. Your choice.

I did enjoy reading the posts and I think that you BOTH should stay in school and focus on English!

Quite funny how two people can go on and on about something like that.

I like how the one guy tells the other guy his grammar is bad and reading back they were both horrific!

Quite a laugh for me while on this flight path that seems to be taking ages, so for what it's worth, Thank You!

:)

I just tried the tanaris rescue solo as a 47 hunter and boy is it hard!! The co-ors listed here are correct for tanaris, but i would strongly advise any mid level 40's to go as a group. I was lucky as there was a 70 warrior there who killed most of the mobs for me. Defo not the easiest of quests. GL all

Am now wondering how running in with my shield and a hot and just clicking on metzen would have turned out.

Just found Metzen in Tanaris, near by 42-45 mobs. Two other players were already there, so I stealthed (I'm a druid) and got him. Reindeer dust automatically worked, didn't have to click anything. Did die though as I left.

I just soloed this as a level 40 rogue. I died in the process, but here's how.

Using Distract, making sure all the guards around are affected, sneak up and talk to Metzen. The Distract should give you enough time to do all necessary clicking. Now, talking to Metzen brings you out of stealth, but if you're quick, you can start the process before you get killed.

He is both at 67,34 in Searing Gorge, and at 73,47 in Tanaris. both "guards" are around lvl 45.

the unknown reward is 5 pieces of a treat that makes your mount look like a reindeer (use the item when mounted).

the reward is limited to five though, and dispells when unmounted. however, they can probably be used when you want (even after winter is over).

you can get more of this kind by /kiss to someone below a mistel (do it on another player and they'll get a nice spirit buff) and you will recieve a gift. this random gift can also have 5 of what this quest reward is, but then it has a "most be usable within 7 days" limit. so save your quest reward! :)

While the gesture is appreciated, giving location coordinates to the many of us who use Blizzards default UI is like setting a blind man behind the steering wheel of a car. If someone could post more descriptive directions I’d be most grateful.

An addon isnt needed anything an addon can do can also be done with macros
the macro for location would be

/script px,py=GetPlayerMapPosition("player")
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(format("[ %s ] %i , %i",GetZoneText(),px*100,py*100));

The coordinates are percentages first is left to right, and the second is top to bottom.

Examples:
0,0 = NW corner
0,100 = SW corner
50,50 = Center
100,0 = NE corner
100,100 = SE
50, 100 = East wall
You get the idea...

dont correct someone of making the exact same mistake you are making WHILE correcting them. and in more ways than one. (spelling and grammar in this case)
"

well, uh. i don't recall i did that? i must have forgotten what i typed and fail to read it in my post, since i fail to see where i supposingly are correcting them.

i don't claim i type perfect english in comments on where to find quest objectives to a online game.

secondly, the signature was most likely not typed when i did the post, so IF i were to correct someone in my post, i still wouldn't "do the mistakes" in the signature "WHILE [i am] correcting them".

and as a third notice, it has nothing to do with spelling, it has to do with grammar. congratulations!

(on a final note, the point is to point out the post as the basis of the signature, and the post including several comments (usually). thus; "that is [a post full of] quality comments that everyone can enjoy."

but it was nice to see you aim so high and fail so miserably, enjoyed me a little.)

ok, now if everyone will turn thier attention to Shtirlits and nelgunnaz... read thier comments. Notice they posted before me. Read Shtirlits comment,
Shtirlits wrote:

ok, this in reference to a comment made by "enderton the Irrelevant". notice I had his name in my comment reffering to HIM, not anyone else.
He was correcting Taurmindo's signiture. He used the word "grammer" now, i don't know where his is... i didn't know you could delete comments, maybe he deleted his account and it deleted his comment. But regaurdless. what enderton the Irrelevant said was that Taurmindo's sig should have been "now that's quality comment that everyone can enjoy." He then said that you need to use proper "grammer". (hence Shtirlits's comment correcting him with saying it should be 'grammar')
I was only flaming the flamer. So don't get pissed at me for defending you. HE (meaning enderton the Irrelevant) was the one flaming you. HE was the one that made spelling AND grammar mistakes WHILE correcting Taurmindo.
now what is the moral of this story? Dont flame the one's defending you from the flamer, especially when that person SAYS the flamers name
ShalidarJ wrote:

ya... flaming someone who was only flaming the original flamer. now you flame me for getting on his case.
now, I understand that you didn't realize this, and again... I dont know where his comment went, but otherwise what grounds does Shtirlits and nelgunnaz have? it refers to nothing and would be COMPLETELY random, and i asure you, when i made my post i saw what it was referring to.
Just remember, if the person gets on someone's case for flaming (especially when that person states the flamers name), perhaps you should think a little before you start the needless flaming.
