Nat Pagle wants you to catch the following fish:
Misty Reed Mahi Mahi from the Misty Reed Strand in the Swamp of Sorrows.
A Sar'theris Striker from the Sar'theris Strand in Desolace.
Feralas Ahi from the Verdantis River of Feralas.
Savage Coast Blue Sailfin from the Savage Coast of Stranglethorn Vale.
Return to Nat Pagle when you have reeled them all in!
Can't say I really enjoy fishin' much. Figure I been at it for a good 20 or 30 years now.
I reckon people are driven to do what they do for different reasons.
Now, I'm not saying you need to fish for 30 years or catch every fish in the sea to become a master fisherman. I reckon you just need to be determined - determined enough to sit on your duff for hours at a time, doin' nothin'.
I'll tell you what, catch me a few rare fish and I'll teach you a thing or two. Here's a list:
Anything bitin' today?
Now that's a fine catch!
Come over here, lemme show you how to set a few lines.
Pre-req: Quest: You Too Good. (Horde) OR Quest: I Got Nothin' Left! (Alliance)
Feralis Ahi: 62.3, 52.3 - Verdantis River, FERALAS Sartheris Striker: 21.8, 87.5 - Sartheris Strand, DESOLACE Savage Coast Blue Sailfin: 26.8, 70.1 - Southern Savage Coast, STRANGLETHORN VALE Misty Reed Mahi Mahi: 91.1, 82.2 - Misty Reed Strand, SWAMP OF SORROWS

YOU MUST BE FISHING LEVEL 225 IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THIS QUEST!!
I went out of my way to get to Pat because my fishing level was at 200 (which usually qualifies you for advancement to Artisan level training). Sadly, it's just like the First Aid quest here in Theramore - you need to be at 225 to get it.
There's two sections in Stranglethorn Vale that you can catch the Savage Coast Blue Sailfin, that's either the Southern Savage Coast (North of Booty Bay) or the Savage Coast which is the west coast of Stranglethorn Vale where Grom'gol Base Camp is located. If your mini-map says either Southern Savage Coast or Savage Coast, then you're in the right spot to catch the fish.
Even a little disappointing, since after the effort of getting through the Swamp of Sorrows and Feralas, I was hoping for a bit of leisure time just fishing for each fish. Not to be. So given I had flight points near to each spot already, this easily took less than 30 minutes.

The only problem I encountered was in feralas, and there is was just a little bit longer than the others. Patience is a virtue, those that are patient will definitely finish this easily.
Perhaps Blizz will review this at some point and make it a bit more even? That would be nice :)

Feralas.....62,52......4 casts (also 2 Redill, 1 Mithril Head Trout, Sunscale Salmon; the quest item was caught along with the 4th fish)

SoS.........78,95.....14 casts (also 4 Rockscale Cod, 5 Oily Blackmouth, 2 Firefin Snapper, 3 Spotted Yellowtail)
Keep in mind, the surplus fish can be used to level your cooking skills or can be sold on AH for a fair amount of money.
Happy fishing!

As of 11/10/08 - I am once again on this quest on another character along with 2 friends of mine. Of the first two locations, the three of us caught the quest items on the first cast. It seems Blizzard has made this quest much easier and faster to complete.

what can i do?
Fly to Camp MO. Head west on the road till you cross the bridge and it will say Verdantis River go fish.
fly to ratchet take boot to booty bay.
Head back to flight path, go to Ratchet, take boat to Booty Bay. When you step off boat, turn left and jump in water and start swimming. There will be a rock-projection on your right. This is the area where (if you did the quest) that you killed "Pretty Boy" to get Catalina's knife back. Stand on the rock and fish.

He will want you to go fish up 4 different fish from 4 different zones. You won't need a lure for any of them.
I am going to give you coordinates in case TomTom (or whatever add-on you use) is working again but I am also going to give directions in case it isn't. Be sure your mini-map says the zone section or you wont catch the fish. Also, I did this on my alliance toons - my horde toon isn't old enough yet, so I can't give directions from those closer FPs. But if you have half-a-clue about the zones, you should still be able to figure it out. []
(This next tip you probably have already figured out on your own.) Keep in mind that even tho TomTom isn't working and coordinates are not showing up at the bottom of the BIG map, you can still use them to give you a general idea of where you need to go. Maps and coordinates are laid out on a 100-grid so you can look at them as a percentage.
For example, the first fish mentioned below is at 21.8, 87.5. So that tells me it is 21% of the way across the map from the left. And 87% of the way down the map from the top. Just like reading - left to right, top to bottom.
Nat Pagle is at 52, 60 on a little island almost directly west of the docks in Theramore. Easest way to reach him is to swim from the docks (if you are alliance). There are several "rocks" (islands) on your mini-map - his is closer to land than the bay that you will swim thru from Theramore - kinda but not quite in the middle of all the little islands. By the time you can see his dock and tent, you should have a yellow ? on your mini-map.
This is the order I did them in simply because of travel time = there are two on each continent:
Name of Fish - loc - Zone Section - Zone
Sartheris Striker - 21.8, 87.5 - Sartheris Strand - Desolace. For this one I flew to Feralas (the one farthest west). Swim or take boat to main land. Run up hill and turn left and head to Desolace. If you didn't do any of the centaur-faction quests in Nijel's point, you can run thru the centaur village on the left and keep going to the coast. Follow the coast south and west and you will have to continue on swimming for a little ways when you run out of beach. Stay close to the rock/land so you do not get fatigued. You will come to a rock that you can just BARELY stand on - can't fish while swimming. This is where you want to be to catch this fish.
Ferais Ahi - 62.3, 52.3 - Verdantis River - Feralas. Head back to Feralas the way you came but instead of going to the dock, keep running up the road towards Dire Maul. The first bridge you come to will be Verdantis River. Keep an eye out for mobs. This loc is safe from wanderers. So if you have problems with mobs, you should move to a different spot on the river.
Savage Coats Blue Sailfin - 26.8, 70.1 - Southern Savage Coast - Stranglethorn Vale.
Misty Reed Mahi Mahi - 91.1, 82.2 - Misty Reed Strand - Swamp of Sorrows. Go back to Booty Bay and take FP to Natherguard Keep (for alliance) in Blasted Lands or (for horde) Stonard (if you have it). If you don't have this FP yet, for alliance fly to Duskwood and take road north and east. You will cross a bridge and have a choice to go = GO LEFT thru Deadwind Pass. You will be on the west side of the zone and you need to go to the east side to the coast. Follow the road until you come to a fork. The right fork will take you to Blasted Lands (the alliance FP is on the left side of the road to the east a little ways inside the compound). The left fork will take you to horde territory so you will have to go even farther north off the road and around the compound. There is wildlife every where to avoid (you can kill them if you want but that eats up time). Once you get to the coast, you will want to be farther south by a murloc village. There will be another little island you need to swim out to. Again, it will have just enough space to stand on to fish. Be careful that your mini map says Misty Reed Strand - two steps in the wrong direction will take you out of the correct zone section.
Now head back to Nat Pagle and turn in your quest. [:cookie:]

Wherever you try it, make sure your mini-map says Misty Reed Strand. Good fishing!
here's a tally of the fish i caught in the process;
Raw rockscale cod x 16
spotted yellowtail x 6
firfin snapper x 5
redgil x 10
Mithril head trout x 5
nightfin snapper x 1
oily blackmouth x 9
I caught the one form the swamp of sorrows in 1 cast!
Finally, I didn't need to do a pre-quest to get this quest from Nat Pagle; I just had fishing maxed out at 225. I can't confirm if there is a minimum level to acquire this quest or not but it worked for me at 36.
Oh, and one last thing before you start - set your hearthstone to the Inn in Theramore before starting your quest since it will save you an enormous amount of time returning to Theramore from the Swamp of Sorrows.
1) Feralas Ahi - flew to Thalanar and snuck along the north side of the mountain range (south of the main road) to avoid Camp Mojache. Once I hit Woodpaw Hills, I headed north to the main road, followed the road west for a while, and then headed north off the road right before the bridge that crosses the Verdantis River. I found a fairly secluded spot in a ravine on the west side of the river (62,50). I caught the Ahi on my 12th cast. This was probably the hardest one to complete, due to the zone being set for a higher level (40-50) than my Druid at the time. Also, the river is very close to the entrance to Dire Maul.
2) Sar'theris Striker - flew to Nijel's Point in Desolace and followed the main road south and then west to the coast. I picked a spot just north of the lighthouse Ethel Rethor (39,22) and caught the Striker on my 11th cast. I then hearthed back to Theramore.
3) Savage Coast Blue Sailfin - flew to Ratchet and hopped the boat to Booty Bay. Jumped off the dock and swam north to the aforementioned rock (26,69). I stood on the west side of the rock (so it was between myself and the beach) and caught a Sailfin on my 10th cast. This was by far the easiest one in the bunch.
4) Misty Reed Mahi Mahi - flew to Nethergarde Keep, ran north to the Swamp of Sorrows, and then followed the mountains east/south east to the coast (keep a look out for the stealthy Shadow Panthers and guards at the eastern entrance to Stonard). Once I reached the coast, I ran north until I saw three small islands just off the coast. Originally, I swam out to the largest of the three islands, but as GeeSeXaaR mentions in a previous post, this island is actually in The Forbidding Sea, not in the Misty Reed Strand where you need to be. I stood on the north side of the small island closest to shore (92,81) and caught a Mahi on my 17th cast.
[BTW, if you don't already have the flight point for Nethergarde Keep, now is a great time to get it. Just follow DjTed's instructions on getting there from Darkshire. Once you have this flight point, follow the instructions above to reach the Misty Reed Strand.]
From there, I hearthstoned back to the Inn in Theramore and then swam over to Nat's camp to complete the quest. When I turned my fish in, I was at level 37 and received 5550 XP and the artisan fishing skill. Well, I hope this helps any of you anglers out there wanting to complete this quest. I'm heading out into the world now to level my fishing skill up to 300!

One note make sure you fish first island in SOS as the second one is actually in the forbiden sea! It finally sank in after about 10 casts I wasnt in the right zone!
Thanks
Col
Feralis Ahi: 62.3, 52.3 Verdantis River, FERALAS
Sartheris Striker: 21.8, 87.5 Sartheris Strand, DESOLACE
Savage Coast Blue Sailfin: 26.8, 70.1 Southern Savage Coast, STRANGLETHORN VALE(Thanks to Dpyers' post)
Misty Reed Mahi Mahi: 91.1, 82.2 Misty Reed Strand, SWAMP OF SORROWS
This is a quick run through of how i went about it.
Fly from Theramore to Thalanaar(FERALAS) then ride west along the southern mountains to miss the lake and Camp Mojache. As soon as you get to the west side of the lake follow the road to Verdantis River. I found a fallen tree on the west side of the bridge near the river. Catch Feralis Ahi.
Now ride back to Thalanaar and fly to Nijel's Point (DESOLACE). Head southwest to the compass circle in the water on the map. I swam south along the mountain to find a safe area and caught Sartheris Striker. 2 down, 2 to go. Get back to Nijel's Point.
Fly to Ratchet (THE BARRENS) and jump on a boat for Booty Bay (STRANGLETHORN VALE). Ok this is the easiest of all thanks to Dpyers. Jump off the boat or the dock and swim North maybe 100 yards, there is a big rock on the beach. Avoid the Bloodsails and catch Savage Coast Blue Sailfin. Now swim to Booty Bay and fly to Darkshire (DUSKWOOD).
If you don't have Nethergarde Keep FP (FLIGHT PATH) this is a good time and discovery experience for me was great (Thousands). From Darkshire FP ride East along the road through Deadman's Crossing (DEADWIND PASS) and into SWAMP OF SORROWS. Now stll following the road take the right fork south east and a second right further down to go south into THE BLASTED LANDS. Keep the mountain on your left and you'll find a mine and Nethergarde Keep. FP in south East corner top of a tower. Now go back into SWAMP OF SORROWS.
This time at the second junction go north then East to Stonard, I recommend sticking to the mountain side and riding like hell East to the water. When you get to Stagalbog Cave you are 3/4 way there. Soon as you get to the coast check map for an island in south east corner. Swim out to it and catch Misty Reed Mahi Mahi.
All 4 Done, now go to Nethergarde Keep, fly to Booty, boat to Rathchet, fly to Theramore and swim to Nat Pagle. Hope this helps.
In Reply to Izzy, when you complete the quest you will have 225/300 fishing not before. So after the quest grab some bait and go to Tanaris and Feralas or the like and fish to your hearts content to skill up.
Just bumping up in list

I did not use the coordinates given. I just started fishing when I reached each location and easily caught the fish. The toughest one was the mahi mahi, but even that took me only about ten casts.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown of this quest. Being an avid fisherman in real life, I've really taken to the fishing skill in WoW and the thrill of finding new fishing holes and catching new types of fish. I currently have a fishing skill of 215 and I'm working hard to get to 225 so I can start this quest. I have one comment about your posting. You make a good point about getting the Nethergarde Keep FP if you don't already have it (and I intend to get it). However, I think it would be a lot easier if you were to set your Hearthstone to the Inn in Theramore (if you rolled Alliance) before you start this quest and then just hearth back from Nethergarde Keep instead of making the long trip you describe in order to get back to Theramore and Nat (don't know where the closest Inn for Horde would be). Well, that's my two cents. Thanks again for the details and I'll let you know how I faired once I've completed this quest.

I spent a total of maybe an hour or two at Iron Forge fishing to get to 225, the damnedest part was spending too much time trying to get Old Iron something or another. (pissed me off that my friend got it three frigging times, yes that is 3 friggin times).
If you really want to skill up just park your butt in Iron Forge and fish away, make this skill, get the quest and wonder around a bit to complete it.
This is not that difficult to accomplish people, seriously, it takes no more than a six pack of Bud and a bag of Doritos to complete.
Ok, maybe a pizza...but that slow arsed delivery kid won't make it in time, seriously.

P.S. It has been tested that it is quicker to start at Ironforge, fly to Menethil and boat to Theramore than it is to fly from Darnassus across land.
Another option is Auberdine, boat Menethil, boat Theramore. (sux if ya miss first boat but still quicker)

Stranglethorn Vale - 2 casts.
Swamp of Sorrows - 6 casts.
Feralas - Fish got away on first cast. Enter Bright baubles, and got him on 4th cast.
Dustwallow Marsh - 6 casts.
If you take the quest from Lumak, you will get a "?" on your mini-map when you get close to Nat.
You do get exp for completing the quest, though I forget how much.
South-east of "Beezil's Wreck" tent in Dustwallow Marsh is a path through the mountain to the water, 54,57 54,58. If you follow this path to the water, you'll have a ship wreck to your right, an island straight ahead and one to the left. "Nat's Landing" is the one on the left. You can also return this way. Much safer, and way shorter, than going along the coast for any distance, if you are not a high level.

For STV the best spot (3 casts) is right near BB itself like already mentioned, swim north from dock and fish from rock near the pirates.
52.60
Follow trail (now Marked) to Tabetha's hut. Than follow trail past that east to zeppelin crash. Follow trail behind the tent there to water. Go slightlt NE from there to the island where you find Nat.

1 Misty Reed Mahi Mahi.
1 Sar'theris Striker.
1 Feralas Ahi.
1 Savage Coast Blue Sailfin. (I got last at 26,42 in the Southern Savage Coast)
1 Superior Healing poting.
5 Raw Nightfin Snapper.
7 That got away.
10 Raw Mithril Head Trout.
12 Raw Suncale Salmon.
26 Oily Blackmouth.
27 Firefin Snapper.
42 Raw Redgill.
46 Raw Spotted Yellowtail.
81 Raw Rockscale Cod.
I had to use 5 Aquadynamic Fish Attractor. In all a pain....though I guess I just got very unlucky cause you all say you got in less then 7 casts. =P
I don't think that I will ever fish again.
Good luck you you all.
Does anyone know if it is possible to buy the fish at AH and then hand in to Nat to finish the quest?
5th cast @ (24,62) Desolace
The other 2 I didn't note casts (but I know they were less than 15 each...) or location however I believe they were somewhere around...
STV (25,19)
Swamp (94,36)
I'm currently a level 42 Tauren Hunter and found using my mount helped speed up travel time and had less agro's than when I tried and ran it prior to level 40.
I'm now off to Nat Pagle who is supposedly located at 58,59 on a rock in Tidefury Cove.
Cheers!
Edited, Sep 24th 2007 3:27pm by kelsaborg
Nat Pagle is on one of the miniature islands from the furthest south west in Theramore Isle.
((You do not need the prequests. You can go to him directly once you have 225 fishing))
Started at level 55 with my frostsaber cub. None of the animals I trained on had fishing required.
It is very helpful to have the 100 bobbers! "Your Fish Got Away!" is very annoying!
First one is in Desolace. Follow the road on your map drawing west past "Thunder Axe Fortress" and continue to the beach.
You will start to cross into some grassy area called "Sar'Theris Strand". Follow the beach until you face the boat on the southern end of the beach.
Feralas is next. Work your way to "Dire Maul". Follow the road a bit east from Dire Maul to the nearby lake.
STV. Fly to the Barrens and take the boat. Then you have to run to the "Ruins of Zul'Kunda".
Go to the beach where you found one of the troll tablets you collected on a similar quest location. Fish on the beach.
Lastly, swamp of sorrows. Go to the north eastern end of the swamp and fish off the beach anywhere.
