Objectives

Travel to the Wyrmbog in Dustwallow Marsh and seek out Emberstrife's Den. Once inside, wear the Amulet of Draconic Subversion and speak with Emberstrife.

Description

I have attuned this medallion with the magic necessary to create and maintain an illusion within the bounds of the den of Emberstrife.

Emberstrife is an ancient drake; an old gatekeeper of Nefarian, burdened with the duty to test those dragonspawn that would ascend to the rank of elite guard to Onyxia.

Travel to the Wyrmbog of Dustwallow Marsh and enter the lair of Emberstrife. Once there, put on the amulet and follow where your destiny may lead!

Completion

Have we run so low on able soldiers that Nefarian is sending me whelps? You will never pass my tests, broodling.

Mod and add-on users beware. At the time of this post v2.0 pre-BC has been out for a week or so. I attempted this quest only to find the pet bar didn't come up. Even /reloadui during the channeling did nothing for me. I ended up retrying and using all of my charges on the orb. I had to go back to cancel the quest and get it from the NPC in LBRS again. There's a mod or add-on I'm using that causes the pet bar to disappear intermittently. I ended up disabling all mods for this quest. Keep in mind this problem will probably eventually be fixed by the mod authors, but you may want to disable yours before attempting it.

I'm having this same issue. I use CTmod. I too disabled it (via character select Addons screen). Did you completely remove the Addon files to get this to work? Can you explain exactly how you disabled? Thanks!

Yeah, when I came back to turn in the first three quests he gives, a couple hunters decided to pull him to Orgrimmar at the exact same time. They didn't respond to requests to stop...just kep on pulling...waited half an hour...yay griefing.

what's the amulet for? You need to use that amulet so you can disguise to be one of the dragonkin if you don't use the amulet Emberstrife will pawn you

We just messed up on him for the UBRS key quest and accidently killed him. He took 5 mins to respawn on the nose. We timed him after coming to this page and seeing that no one was sure.

You have to weaken him for seal of ascension, for druids you have pull him outside and starfire and root and keep doing that then you can eventually kill him.

u do not fight him, u use the item u got from the previous quest to diguise ur self.

he is located in a cave at 55,85 in dustwallow marsh

You will fight and "subdue" him in the UBRS key quest. The Onyxia chain quest no you do not.

BTW if you dont wanna sit around for his repop while doing the UBRS key quest.. Hold off on the major dots etc at about 40%.

His respawn is 5 mins exactly. My group messed up and killed him accidently when we were doing the UBRS key quest. We timed him since no one could say for sure on here how long the resapwn time was. So there it is... 5 Minutes.
