I gave the cliff walking a fair shake and couldn't quite latch onto enough wall to make it up the last bit of wall and over to Haleh. Pretty annoying since I could see the question mark from where I was!

After I'd tried a number of times I thought I'd take a rest and go the regular way, since I'm pretty good at hugging walls and waiting for an opening.

The first time in I killed maybe three mobs and certainly not because they were attacking me, but more as insurance that the way would be clear. Got all the way to the back of the cave, snuck around to back wall where I could clearly see the portal rune and waited for the dragon to turn. Ran over and jumped onto it and got to Haleh.

Unfortunately -- ooops! In getting ready to do a big instance I'd really stripped my bags of everything from earlier and well - quest item -- in bank. I laughed pretty hard. Used slow fall to get down and rode into Everlook, retrieved fragment and went back.

This time I wouldn't have killed anything except a rogue and pulled two and so I got one away from him, just to be nice. So the rogue and the mage, each using their own skill set (or in my case, just some caution and patience) - get the job done.

It took me a while at the last jump right before Helen, other than that everything is good and it still works. I watched the video and did exactly what he did, thank you for showing us the shortcut in video. I did it with a level 40 mount.

did it first attempt, no speed trinkets - plain old non epic mount (lvl 55 Draenei shamen). I saw the video about 7 months ago and did the same.

This quest can be attained at lvl 50, so can from The Crumpled Note you find in BRD.

Yup, 07/01/07 and still able to do it. My guildee only had Carrot and still made it without Mithril Spurs.

A little update as of December 31st, 2006. I was indeed able to reach Haleh as per the video link. First what this video doesn't show is where is the starting point to do the run up the hill. You will see a road branching off the main north-south road in Winterspring that leads to the cave. Take this road in a ways and then run a little south of the cave toward the ridge and work your way up to the starting video point watching out for any of the dragonkin. Took a few tries but it does work.

Secondly, be very careful NOT to land on the cobalt blue rune ring on the ground next to Haleh otherwise you ported down into the dragon cave. If this happens immediately gather your wits and get back on the circle. If you don't get ported by just standing, try jumping. ( I know, this happened to me)

Also the original Haleh is now a Blood Elf model using the new updated graphics from Burning Crusade. I submitted a jpeg.

Lastly, as one or another post has stated its a SHE not a he. In truth she is a dragon of the blue flight in disguise but the lore usually says the dragons do tend to retain their gender whatever they chose.

The medthod from the video is probably the easiest and quickest way to get the next stage of the chain. As of November 10th, 2006 it still works, so Blizzard hasn't blocked it yet... if they ever will.

If you don't want to die a lot, try what the video shows.

I tried and failed the jump 10 times on my Stormpike Battle Charger. I switched to my swift stormsaber, and made the jump the first try without dismounting.

This was so easy! Completed 10/24/2006 with my 60 NE Hunter by climbing the mountain. Any Dragonkin aggroed faded away by the time I got to the point to climb. Hopped off my mount and Super Mario'd up to the log, walk accross and down to Haleh, bam easy with 0% damage.

Funny thing was I had my back to the NPC and a 60 Shammy that went through the cave appeared, tried to gank me. He had a nice ghost walk back to the top of the mountain.

Had to try a few times, but eventually managed to get to her :)

Worked as of 7/11/06. Took me about 8 tries to get the jump right, but it does work. Saved me tons of time. Thanks man.

WTF?? I just spent about 10 tries trying to jump onto the ledge, finally got there, then I've moved the camera around to see where this cave was that you were supposed to come and I spawned in the cave next to a giant dragon....

The coordinates are accurate. There are 54 and 55 dragonkkin and wymerins and some larger 56 wymerins in the cave. The dragonkins come in groups of 3 or 4 the wymerins are usually solo or patrols. Three of us elected to try the cave lvl 60 warror and mage and a lvl 56 hunter. Individual pulls on the wymerins were possible. The dragonkins we took out by pulling them together and AOEing them under. Note some dragonkins will hang back and throw frost bolts so in some cases we had to tackle them as a spread group. Without a healer this was dicy but I (the mage) only died once in this section and the warrior and hunter survived. About 3/4s of the way through the cave you see the 58 elite dragon. We tried him and got flattened. He stunned and ice trapped us separately, we might have taken him down to 40% health before he killed us. Without a healer we were toast. when we came back to rez the wymerins and dragonkin had respawned. (NOTE: the respwan rate in the cave is pretty high we had to rekill things approaching from behind us several times). As we prepared to rez and fight a respwaned but isolated wymerin two level 60 warriors showed up trying the corpse run technique (getting flattened btw). We rezed and killed the isolated wymerin despite being at half health and strength. When the 2 warriors rezed we joined forces and took the level 58 elite easily. Once you kill the level 58 elite you need to pull a group of dragonkin and kill them. Now you are at the level 60 elite that patrols over the portal. There is a group of dragonkin just beyond the portal too. wait till the lvl 60 flys up turns and flys away. Pull and kill the dragonkin. Now you can run up and use the portal.

Here is detail you may find useful. There is a delay in the portal and only one person can use it at a time So if you all run up and jump on the portal one (or more) of you will still be standing there when the lvl 60 flies up. There is room to stand with your back flat against the far cave wall and not aggro the lvl 60 so time the portal use and jump on it one at a time.

Why fight your way through? Well we had three VERY VERY nice blue drops all BOE and there were 2 rich thorium veins both of which also dropped crystals. One of the blues was going for 100 gold on the AH though the winner elected to equip it. A well balanced group of 5 should roll through this cave in 30 minutes or less.

i had help of a 60 mount yes!!!

Just made the jump without going through the cave (15May06). I tried the autowalk technique but I couldn't make it work. Instead I watched the video posted above and another I found on the web of making the jump to her on your mount.

It works. Just completed on my L40 mount, no buffs or adds. It took a few tries and I had the watch the video quite a few time. It's 2 jumps. After the first jump you are on a small invisible ledge. You need to back up a couple of feet so that your mount can make the second jump. As soon as I did that the jump worked first time.

Just did the walk around and it can still be done in 1.10 but via a slightly different route.

The video starts at 54,53 which you can get to easily on horseback.

if you guys did a similar quest to get to that lady, then its very easy, the image map that someone printed out doesn't actaully work that well, so its better to do the jumping and the stealthing..

works like a charm!
