Objectives

Kill the shredders XT:4 and XT:9, then return to Seereth Stonebreak at the border of the Stonetalon Mountains and the Barrens.

Description

There is a relation to the spiritual magic of shaman and the natural magic of druids. This is why we shaman can hear the plea of the spirits of Stonetalon. Many of their whisperings are lost to me, but one message, one vision, is clear...

I saw a vision of two man-shaped machines in Windshear Crag, northwest of Greatwood Vale, felling trees with impossible speed. These metal beasts must be stopped!

In my vision, the machines were marked with strange symbols:

XT:4 and XT:9.

Progress

The tree spirits wail at the loss of their brethren, <name>. You must destroy the shredders XT:4 and XT:9, or I fear Stonetalon will never be healed.

Completion

The destruction of the machines XT:4 and XT:9 have soothed many of the spirits of Stonetalon, <name>. With their loss, let us hope the Venture Company will remove itself from these mountains.

For if they do not, then I fear the atrocities this place has suffered will pale to what lies ahead.

Reputation

+250 reputation with Orgrimmar
+62 reputation with Darkspear Trolls

Additional Notes

XT9 seems to roam around the southern part of the logged area of Windshear. XT4 is in the northern part, near the heliport.

I just killed the Operator standing next to the broken down robot at 69,55 (Titan). I turned around and X9 spawned in the large circular clearing right in front of the robot. Sure beats waiting for pathing.

Yeah, couldn't find XT-9, stood on the pile of logs in front of the Titan at the listed coords and he came along in about two minutes.
Did anyone else notice....

that when you kill XT:4, just before the machine dies, the little green guy falls out and the machine falls on him, crushing his widdle body. You can see his feet sticking out - they jump up when the cockpit falls on him.

Nice comic relief after so much frustration...

I was getting really frustrated trying to find XT:4, about to give up. I parked on top of a rock at 69.7,47.2 to look on here one more time and see if I could find another coordinate to map out. When I alt-tabbed back to the game, he was right there, walking up to my rock. So there ya go, another coordinate for him.

I got him at co-ord 70.2,48.3 .....and yes he roams...but if you take like five or six of the previous co-ords and mark them on your map....you will get a good Idea of his Patrol Path, and thus know where you might intercept him

I did this quest solo on my 20 Warlock. Just sent in the Voidwalker to tank and then Immolate, Corruption, Curse of Agony, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt. I did this for both the XT:9 and XT:4 and they dropped like it was hot.

Coordinates that people give may be accurate or inaccurate because they both wander in circles around Windshear Crag. Just walk around for a little while and you will most likely spot them.

Update XT:4 Found him again, apparently near the tail end of his treck. first saw him at 63,47 from there he walked north towards 63,45 where he turned east and despawned at 65,44!

Update again! as I was typing the above I saw him again!! First glimpse at 66,47 he then walked in a mirror image pattern to the above, north and then west despawning at 65,44 again.

This guy is apparently all over the place. good luck!

The "70,40" location for XT:4 is misleading if not completely inaccurate. That might be near the limit of his wanderings, though I don't know that he does get to those coords specifically. In short, don't look there for him; it's not fruitful.

I found him at 71,45. This I believe is more central to his stomping ground.

As you come north through the spider area, the XT:9 is located to your right, before you get to the river. The XT:4 is located to your left after you cross the river.

For the XT:9, you can kill a wandering stegosaurus (I forget the real name) in the nearby foothills and pull the XT:9 to there as it wanders by. Easy.

For the XT:4, I watched the mob pathing for a minute and picked a spot in the middle of everything for pulling. Nothing added during the fight so just be careful and be quick.

Did this as a 23 Tauren Shaman, and could have done it a level or 2 earlier I think.

This one is simple but a pain at times. The two mobs you need are wandering mobs and they tend to wander in the areas with the most concentration of aggro mobs. Surprisingly both were easy to take down with a pet. To hunt these head to Windshear Crag to the clear cut area with the lumber company. You'll need to keep an eye out for a 24+elite mob. Wasn't sure if I could take him but I did. He's human so when you whittle away at his health he'll do the death run at a low level. Just snare him and beat the stuffing out of him some more. He dropped me a nice [Defender Tunic of the Bear]. To bad I can't using.

My result:
You gain 1850 experience.
Your reputation with Orgrimmar has increased.
Received 15 Silver.
