Broken Tooth was once the caster's nightmare! With such a great attack speed it was impossible for any caster to cast any spell.. Now it's just a lion... They shouldnt do this to him! My opinion is that if you have a BM spec go for Humar the pridelord or king bangalash (also known as KB)..Humar lives under the biggest tree on your right hand as you are leaving ratchet in the Barrens..KB lives in Strsglethon Vale...Now if you have a Marksman spec go for a scorpid in the endgame..Scorpids have a lot of armor and they have POISON! which means that a character poisoned by a scorpid must first remove your scorpid's poison then yours..it needs time to do that so he will be dead soon! i killed him on my first 10 minutes in the badlands because i already have a ghost saber so its fun to kill other rare stuff.

I just found out about nerfing BT. been using my scorpid. i go into my stable to get my DPS BT to lvl him for some heavy AV battleground and find out my 1.00 attack speed BT has been nerfed. i camped for 10 hours for this cat just for his caster killing abilities and now he is nerfed. F U Blizzard

if you want a caster nightmare, get a ZG bat with screech... it nerfs the casting time much + it has 1.0 AS as well, or it use to atleast

as for tanking pets, yes, Bears and turtles are the best tanks, bears, cause of their huge HP, and Turtles cause of their huge armor and "shield wall", Boars are great tanks too, despite not having the hp or armor @ its max it manages to keep aggro very well with the agro it generates from charging the target

raid pet: Wolf, as furious howl increases dps of party members, rogues and dps warriors love this stuff

a cat is a ganking pet, if you wanna gank someone, use a cat, cause it can be hidden in the shadows as your "victim" runs past you, send it on him and use that BM ability that stuns and boom... you have him:) its also a very good DD, as the fast speed + dps is superb


as for the future, I hope Blizzard will buff these so they have the abilities that they have be4 you tame them (wolves in terokkar have a howl that reduces AP (piecing howl effect)) and the fact that they preform daze on their victim would be cool too, they should have that as passive ofc.

I tamed Broken Tooth 20 minutes ago on the Darkmoon Faire server, at around 2:40 server time. It spawned at the eastern camp (TLocs are in a previous post). Expected to find it right away since it's a relatively new server, and so I did.

I can verify that Broken Tooth has a 2.0 attack speed and the only initial ability it has is dash rank 1. Was a bit disappointed to see that it didn't have 1.0 attack speed after reading all these posts, but then again I didn't put much effort into finding it.

Are there no pets with less than 2.0 attack speed below level 40? If there isn't, I might consider choosing a boar or something with some nice pvp abilities instead. Or perhaps I should have a look at Humar.

And another question: If I want to teach BT the other cat abilities like cower, prowl, rake and claw, do I just have to tame the pets that have those as an initial ability? Or do I have to train the pet before I obtain the ability in the pet spellbook? Or do I have to train BT to gain access to them?

I picked up Broken Tooth a few weeks back despite reading about his attack speed going from 1.0 to 2.0. He has been a great pet and holds aggro best of all my pets. I just grabbed King Bangalash out of Stranglethorn and was totally surpised to see his 1.57 attack speed. A friend of mine who has had Broken Tooth for a long time now (way pre patch) says that his attack speed is 1.0 still. So what is the case here? I read that the patch changed all attack speeds to 2.0 and the "new" Broken Tooth I grabbed 2 weeks ago seems to reflect this but King Bangalash who I tamed last nite still has his sub 2.0 attack speed and my 60 level friend who has had Broken Tooth for a long long time says his attack speed hasn't changed. Has anyone grabbed Broken Tooth with his 1.0 attack speed or are all new grabs at 2.0?

seems BT's attack speed has been changed from 1.00 to 2.00.

Walking along from a dead run in Uldaman couldnt wait to try and get him and in five minutes, there he is! While taming though, i wasa ganked by three more stealth panther things, i get the tame off just as i died. Talk about LUCK.

no cat can help u against tank if tank is in your dead zone... personaly i think that boar is good against tank because of stun...or if u wanna cat then try low attack speed cat and prowl... but my meaning is that BT is one of the best pet in the game

Hi, I'm a 60 Hunter on shadowsong ally.

I have 59 BT since long and his stats are:

dps 87.4

I also have a 60 bear that has 2.0 as with 61.8 dps and 5594 armor

As u can see, bear is better tank PVE IF mob stays with pet because of higher armor. In PVP though, ppl will
ignore pet and attack u, making the bear less valuable since BT has higher dps, helping u to kill opponents faster, especially casters.

I prefer to tame with dash before prowl as running speed is imortant to catch fc in PVP and runaway mobs in PVE compared to the lone 50% attack bonus first attack after stealth which has not much meaning really, if u ask me.

Early this morning, my BF and I were educating our buddy about how awesome Broken Tooth is against casters. As he left our LAN Party, he said that he'd log back in once he got back to his place.

We received a tell...
Buddy: "I see BT"
My BF: "BULL$#!%"
Buddy: "He's right here in front of me"
(We check our friend's list and confirm he's in the Badlands)
Us: "TAME HIM!!!"
Buddy: "I am"
(Unbelievable, especially since he had joked with his roommate about getting into a car wreck after he left our place...the excuse for not being home already...and said that's how he got out of going to work once...)

Anyway, my BF is highly annoyed since his now 60 hunter never even got a glimpse of BT roaming around...we still can't believe he caught Broken Tooth within 5 minutes!!

The cat was caught at 1:50am Pacific Time, on Silvermoon Server.

I had an encouter with BT a few days ago...and killed it :(
I didn't know it was a good pet to have.

Today at 11:15 there he was again...and tamed!!

But what is all the fuss about, cause i don't see any deference with my old pet

- Caster Classes will Generally say after the Duel: Damned Pet (Spoken in Every language)

4) Broken Tooth:

- Requires more Food than Other Cats. Higher Metabolism I guess.

5) Not 100% Sure, but Broken Tooth seems to be on an 8 Hr Timer

I SAW HER EARLYER TODAY - 7:30...AND WAS JUST TO TAME HER...HORDE MADE INTERUPTED ME. and killed her

so defenetly on a 6-8 hrs loop...just check on every fw min and you will get her

Does anyone know if he actually spawns in Felwood or is that just some messed up data? I'm level 60 Hunter and tried to get Broken Tooth many many times and never even saw him once. Found broken tooth at the left most spawn point, had just ding'd 40 NE Hunter and thought what the heck will take a look.

There he was, Freeze trapped and tamed. Quickest tame i have ever had of him.


With my lvl 40 orc hunter it took me about 2 weeks to find and tame him.

had to break the news as i was running out to another NE Hunter that i had just snagged him that second ;)

Yeah, He is a good pet for a hunter, he is immune to poison... and it seems it is immune to Gouge from rogues... so probably 1 of the best pets you can get for PvP.

i was there 4.20 am gmt+1 and found broken tooth at the angor fortres and did tame her on my first try he was on the entrence path to the fort
you dont have to be a hifg lvl to tame her i was alone and i'm a lvl 38 nightelf hunter i got lucky on my second time in the badlands

Well I read about Humar on here and WowWiki.com and decided to give him a shot so I camped on him for what seemed like forever. I was running around killing things only getting leather from the bodys and no XP. Finally 5 hours later, he spawned. I leveled him to 25 and decided to call it a night. 20 minutes later I said what the heck (its early and no one is on), I'll go to the Badlands and atleast learn stalk. So in a hurry I get there with only 2 healing potions and low and behold after scouting from the rock...there was Broken Tooth at the far eastern spawn!!!! I died from aggro between the stalkers and vultures about 7 times before I finally snagged him, but so far it was well worth it!!! I cant believe the luck I had with him. After Humar I thought for sure it would take me a few days, but nope!!!! I got both rares in a matter of 6 hours TOTAL!!

I am on Perenolde btw and I got Humar at about 5am Central and BT at about 6am Central (give or take a few minutes). I am so stoked..and still shaking (I just hit 37 at midnight)

ok guys i got him again, i was running through the badlands and decided to use eagle eye on the pointy rock and there he was at the tree at Angor Fortress.

I tamed Broken Tooth with my Troll at 43. I had camped the area for a total of 3 hours or so. That was 3 sessions of about an hour each. I used EE but I wasn't successful so I ran around spamming my target macro. I was going to log off from my 3rd session after checking the middle spawn area when he appeared. I was spamming my macro so I knew he was within attack range. He was on the right up the hill. I was halfway between the middle spawn area and the east spawn area. I got so excited I forgot to use freeze trap. I tamed him on 1st try. I'm 47 now and he's 45. I don't worry about him not being a tank. I have a gorilla and a wolf too. The wolf has an AS of 1.3 so I can pick and choose according to the mobs I'm fighting. The ape hits like a truck while BT jabs like a fiend. If you don't mind spending the time and energy I recommend BT. I don't have prowl and probably never will but dash is working for me right now.

For me the hardest time was getting to the Badlands. DUH, I tried from the south by going from SV then winding up in Burning Steppes. I couldn't get past the mountains. I died 5 times. I finally tried Loch Modan by going SE instead of SW where the gate to Searing Gorge is. I guess everyone else had no problem getting to the Badlands. So flame away. Good luck to anyone who wants to tame BT.

Ive been having the rottenest luck with BT, started camping her 2 days ago. Seen her up the first day. But someone else got her before i did. Been doin nothing but sittin on that rock everyone says to sit on to see both spawn points. set my alarm for 3am hoping that mabey she would be there then but wasnt. just spent 45 mins. running between both spawn points before server shut down and nothing. i feel like im beating a dead horse with BT now
