This just dropped off a maggot in EPL for me. Very, very surprised. Hoping to sell it soon, my very first epic.

while trolling for Lord Darkscythe in EPL, ran into a Scourge soldier. Killed him for being ugly, and, lo and behold, I see this in the loot. I'm like "que? that can't be right, I NEVER get epics". It's not going to sell for crap, but hey, can't complain, first kill of the day. :)

Started with 100g and the next day got a mail saying i want for 50g. So i said 75-80g and put for auction, no1 wants this..?

Well, 3 were going 75-80G on my server, but I persistantly haggled them into finally giving into 50G. They were a fellow Mage, and it was nice of them, so I gave 2G tip though. I'm only 47 right now, but I sure can't wait to try on my 1st epic!

I have had this on the auction house for over a week. Even at 50g this thing will not sell. I put an ad on Trade channel and no replies. The expansion has these prices all borked.

I'm just gonna brag that I just bought this off a lvl 60 rogue for 10g on Undermine. VERY NICE Christmas present =). Too bad i have to wait 10 more lvls

Yep short time left and bid on it to win for 75G. Good deal. Yes I am a firelock and I switch in and out with the Spellweaver's Turban. I was on the server Cho'gall where higher level blues and epics go for cheap because every guild on that server is in Naxx or AQ40.

I spent 2 hours grinding the fire elementals in Un'Goro, i picked up this off a Scorching Elemental(my first epic drop), 4 Essence of Fire, Plans for Thorium Belt and Helm and 106 Core of Elements as well as a whole bunch of Elemental Fire's and Heart of Fires which sell for a decent amount on the AH. A very profitable 2 hours :) and my money troubles are a thing of the past.

I just got this off an anguished highborne I was farming for the icy chill enchant. I have a lvl 26 mage so I am going to save it for her!

quit WoW for about 3 months and before i did i gave away all my money. got WoW back, was completely broke...this dropped up in Felwood, life saver :)

a RL buddy of mine hit 60 yesterday and today got this and Hurricane in 2 hours of eachother. hello epic mount. (which is nice, cause I was gonna have to buy him his mount lol)

I've got it from a Withered Protector in Felwood, sold it for 110g.

Got this off a 55 guard in AV. My first epic. I'm only lvl 51 so was surprisedto see such a nice item. Will try to get 500g for it on Gorefiend alliance AH

i bought mine. sue me :p 80g is pretty fair in my book and the fire res is grwt for rag.. and it look amazing :)

no class gets as much use ou tof this as firemages. not even close. fire usinglocks CAN get a nice bit of use out of it though :) just not as much.

I have it on my mage, which is lvl53 atm, works well along with my cloak (+dmg on magical spells) and off hand (+dmg on magical spells)bumps crit dmg up quite well

My level 51 lock mains fire and in PvP and against mobs it works.

It works by the fact that you eat up mana like a bitch but you kill faster take less damage and you have life tap if your in for about two mobs two levels agaisn't you.

Right before servers went down I took out a level 50 Naga melee in Temple of Mal and two level 52 Spitelash Caster(Not sure on the names) with my Fel as pet.
So the fire damage would be nice for a lock, yes alot better for a mage but still the Int and Sprt boost is nice, also that +15 fire res can save your ass from a mage in PvP.

Let's immagine this:

Eye of Flame: + up to 43
Inferno Gloves: + up to 33
+and som other amplifier items in all + up to say 100

Emberstorm: Increases the damage done by your Fire spells by 10%.

Ruin: Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Destruction spells by 100%

Devestation: Increases the critical strike chance of your Destruction spells by 5%.

Improved searing pain: Increases the critical strike chance of your Searing Pain spell by 10%.

Searing pain has a base damage on 204 to 240.

Let's do best case scenario.

240
+100
=340

340+10%
=364

364*2= 728 crit damage ( quite good )

Curse target with curse of elements to do eaven more damage.
It should be possible to crit up to 1000 then.

600-1000 damage on a 1,5 sec spell, yes please.

you could aloso get gear to make searing pain a 1,3 sec cast and with 50% chance to avoid interruption.
Searing pain is a great and underestimated spell.

Searibg pain is often a better choice in pvp than shadowbolt.
When you're under attack you get way too much interruption using shadowbolt.
That make searing pain a far better choice, and the only choice,
except deathicoil and shadowburn

what I like to do is shadowbolt 1st (takes about 1,2 second to hit on a 23 yd range,
followed by searing pain ( hits almost simultaniosly )and shadowburn ( instant )..
That's just a killer combo to finish off mobs.

Takes shorter time to do than soulfire, and adds more damage.
Cusre the target 1st with curse of shadow to make the bolt and shadowburn to do eaven more damage.

on my warlock I do 195-205 pr tick on rain of fire atm.
I wouldn't mind adding +43 pr tick to that.

To hellfire this would be eaven better. 208 base + all that jazz + 43 damage pr second.
Oh yeah!

Regarding shadowspells and Shadow Mastery Talent:
you'll need 30 pts in affliction to make full shadowmastery.
That's for affliction locks, not destruction locs.

Imo +fire is a better choice than +shadow for destruction locks.
Add +to shadowbolt in pve and voidy loose aggro too fast,
and in pvp I'd go for more searing pain than shadowbolts.
Don't you just hate when taget gets out of range,
before you get to throw off the bolt? that happens alot.
+ Fire also make the AOE spells much much better.

All in all, fire spells isn't just a mage thing.

The Ruin talent for warlocks make crits do 100% extra damage instead of 50%. Add in Curse of Elements and +Fire Damage equipment, and it's quite possible for Soul Fire to do 2200 damage.

But then, SM/Ruin locks with +Shadow Damage gear can get 4K crits with Shadowbolt, and that takes less time, doesn't cost a soul shard, and can be used with Nightfall proc...

So yes, it's much better for a mage. Most warlocks would much rather have something that adds stam and/or shadow damage.

ticks me off to see locks wearing this (or frost mages). stuff this rare should go to those that can put it to the best use.

Ok, your soulfire does 800 dmg, +50% makes it crit at 1200 as you say. As far as I understand from this item it adds up to 43 dmg to your fire spells, which brings you for your soulfire to 843 dmg.
If you crit now, it should do 843 + 421,5 = 1264-1265 dmg. Am I missing something here?
Seriously, can someone explain me how you get to 2200 crit with this item??

A Blazing Invader in Un'Goro for the Elemental Weekly even where Baron Charr runs around the volcano yelling like a fool.

A regular mob dropped this and I was shocked yet somewhat expecting it, eye of flame from a blazing invader haha. And if you want to know, charr didn't drop his mace. This was the highlight of the greed roll at the end since no one could utilize fire(maybe my flame shocks, but I'm a shaman).
