B) everyone is right in saying this ancient epic loot due to replacement greens in Outlands
C) dropped for me in a ST run
D) no one should sell this ever, you can always make gold, you can't always make epics to brag about having imo

I got this a while ago on my mage. I was grinding the Elite Blue-Dragonspawn in Azshara when it dropped for me, thought about selling it but sent it to my lvl 43 warrior instead. He dinged 45 today and got that thing a +18 stamina enchant asap. Worth a giggle when you got too much gold and not enough to buy.

This was my first epic drop, dropped from one of those d00ds in Blasted Lands (which d00d im afraid I cant remember) The stupid paladin I was with rolled need even though he fought with a polearm but I won anyway, it lasted me till I got to Outlands.

Yah I just baught this for 4g on the Hakkar server off of AH hehe, looks like I got a good deal. I have no use for it as I'm a mage, so I put it back on for 150/250g if anyones interested. Is that an ok price, or should I change it do you think?

I'm a Shaman (lvl 46) But it looks so nice (Even the proc, knowing im grinding a lot)

A lot will say ''Omg u r shaman why u needed it?'' Well acually I found it and decided not to sell it. (Ferelas by the way).

It's really not bad, allthough if I were in one group with a Warrior, I would have given it to him offcourse. I know it's more a Tank item then Shaman, but nevertheless, I'm happy with it, it's serving me well !

PS The proc saves ass ^^

same for me, found it while killing the jade oozes in hinterlands for the quest and got this on the last kill i needed. i was pretty much omfg and decided to use it, just because it's still an ok shield for a shaman. apart from that, low lvl epics are no longer such a phat lewt as before (t)bc came out.

Nobody here really cares where it dropped. Its a WORLD DROP means it can drop from ANYTHING level 45-50...

I got mines from the Auction House, so if you really want this shield GET IT FROM THERE, rofl.

Anyways, on to more important stuff, since I bought mines yesterday night before logging - and not having gotten a chance to try it out yet, I was wondering if people here have had experiences with it. Is the shield that procs similar to a Priest's Shield? For ex: does it give a determined amount of hitpoints? If so I would imagine that the shield is great at the late 40s early 50s stage, and not so great for the late 50s as it most likely doesnt scale with your level at that stage.

Also, for a Tank, this proc is great as it gives off more threat to mobs that your tanking when it shields you.

no...it's proc is not like priest's shield spell.It procs alot- i have it on my warrior,dropped off a giant in Mara(near princess theradras).I like it's proc,+150 armor is almost nothing but it look cool =D.When it procs,bones are flying around you(i think some caster mob in RFD has this spell.You can just go there and see).Well anyways this is a good shield for tanking.

I aggree with the first two comments.

The question about this proc'ing similar to a priest's shield: Nope. When this procs, you get 150 extra armor for 20 seconds. That's it, that's all, there is no more usefulness to this shield than that.

Really, it's an 'ok' shield from the second you can use it all the way to lvl 60. Once you hit the mid 50's there are much better shields out there, but this still isn't horrible at that point. I would suggest all pre-raid warriors get the Darconian Deflector as soon as they possibly can though. That is pretty much the best shield you can get at that stage in the game. It doesn't hurt to collect a couple of other shields with different resistances on them, but always keep the Drac Deflector ready on stand by.

As for the last comment...the shield proc is going to create such an extremely low amount of aggro that you will not be able to tell a difference. If whatever tank is using this has a group member getting close enough in aggro to him for this shield's proc to make a difference that means one of two things needs to happen:
1) That tank needs to get better at his job.
2) Whoever that is getting close to the tank's aggro needs to calm the heck down with their DPS, otherwise they need to be prepared to become the group's new off tank.
