First, the head is different than the Horde head, so the horde raids count it as the other droprate.
And about the mob levels... there's the alcohol factor. When you're drunk (like drinking a +10 stamina beer from DM), you sometimes see mob levels below their real level... up to 5 levels below. That's why you see differences. Hope it will be possible to get their real level soon =/
It's also the reason you see Molten Core mobs listed as being lvl 57-62 elites; at one time in beta the lvl cap was 55, not 60.
Still, it would be nice if they did a reset on some mobs after patches - in this case Onyxia.

If you think killing Onyxia is big!! Then join a PvE server, she gets killed all time! and Molten core pretty offen too..

On PVP servers she also gets killed all the time, just as MC and BWL.
i'm just wondering because my item (the ring) isnt't unique so it should be possible to have it twice.
the raid won't allow me to get it another tiem until it is certain...
anyone help? :)

I solo'd Onyxia... Yeah... She made love to me.
1. instance reset at 21:53
2. Full raid meat outside at 22:00
3. 22:22 onixia is dead.
4. around 22:40 her head is raised in ogrimma.
thats how easy its is.
(for the record, I wasnt with the raid, just followed them over teamspeak)

It's just a turn in quest to High Lord Bolvar. You give him the head, he offers you 1 of 3 kickass items, then mounts the head on a chain outside the SW gates for the rest of the server lifetime.
My guild killed her 2 days before nerf, and again last night just to adorn SW with her skull.
Feathermoon sucks.
