I picked this up on my rogue a week back. I prefer it over Striker's Mark, but thats just me.

Before the hunters jump down my throat, no one else wanted it :)

I got this today along with the bracers of true flight ^^
both for minimum bid ^^
I got the gun cause my dmg output with my Xbow was too low... and the leaf (who actually dropped) would have been bought by someone else cause i'm the lowest on DKP... My DPS went up about 14 going to a total of 160 and I keep topping the dmg meters there and i'm not even equipped for it ^^
Having imba skillz puts you straight from spot 10 - 15 to 3 ^^ a rogue or a mage always outdmmgs you if he bothers trying... but i must admit that being a hunter getting spots like 3rd on dmg list is impressive ^^

PvP wise it improved aswell cause i got another crit and more stamina

I guess as long as it's a big improvement for a hunter it goes to them otherwise let a rogue/warrior have it...

From a hunters perspective, 53 agility = 1% crit....by that fact alone, having a 1% crit chance on a ranged weapon is insane. By equipping this item, I have a 31.6% to crit and with the damage this puts out, my dps rating on the charts will go up significantly. Had the hurricane for speed alone and have been ranked 10-15 in a 40man raid, beating all the other hunters and many locks and mages, but with this gun, Ive stepped into the top 5-10 range.....You're crazy as a hunter not to get this gun...better dps that the strikers mark and best gun outside of AQ40..


BTW-- put a sniper scope on it and now the dps is higher than the epic bow and similar to the heartstiker. PLus if get the ammo pouch from AV (+14% attack), you are a heavy hitting machine....Horde beware !!

Uh, no.

First, comparing the DPS.

Striker's Mark: 39.6
Blastershot Launcher: 40.2

looks like the Blastershot wins, right?

Hold on just a second.

Striker's Mark also has +22 Attack power.

and 22 Atack Power adds 1.3 DPS. (17 AP == 1 DPS)

So Striker's mark actually clocks in with 40.9 DPS.

Also, unless you've got the marksmanship talent that increases crit damage, then there is no appreciable difference between +crit and +hit for sustained DPS.

Also, +hit is very useful for places like MC and beyond, where you're regularly shooting at lv63/lvSkull mobs/bosses.

I say Striker's Mark is better, but play with what you like.

Ok. First I'll start with you rogues. What if a dagger/sword you wanted dropped and I rolled/bid on it and said "For stats" Don't even try and tell me you wouldn't be pissed. And as for warriors, you can find better green bows for stats than this for gods sake. 60 health in a raid instance is not even 1/10 of an attack from a trash mob. And that crit chance you can get just about anywhere. Hunters not only use the stats, stamina and crit chance ARE hunter stats too, but also use the item itself constantly. However, I do agree that it isn't the best ranged weapon in the game and the leaf to get the epic quest is close but I would assume you are not the only hunter in the raid nevermind the guild. So this might be the best your gunna get if your not a hardcore raider or if your unlucky. Warriors and Rogues stick to quest bows for stats.

Agree, rogue/warrior imba item. Hunts need more agility for real dps, but the 3 classes have the right to loot this.

The leaf is a 50% drop rate. Any hunter who takes this is greedy as hell. There is not a better ranged weapon for fury warriors until AQ40.

And to address your speculation that there are green ranged weapons better than this: you're completely wrong. Ranged weapons are allotted very few stat points. A whole crit and six stam is fantastic.

I completely agree. Any guild that is able to kill Golemagg should also be able to kill Majordomo and get the hunter epic bow, which is much better for the hunters than this.
This is good for warriors/rogues.
