If you keep one of these in your bank, and head to Uldaman to get another one, be warned, as stated, it's unique and you cannot have more then one. It hasn't happened to me, but it'd really suck to be on a run where "Of FR" dropped and you had some "of the gorilla" in the bank, and couldn't do anything about it. same goes for a few other rings, don't keep unique crappy rings in the bank, "Dimly opalasent ring of shadow resistance" [spelling x.x] is unique, and out of scholo, keep that around you everytime you run scholo, just incase of fire resistance drops ;)
Guess what, me(druid) Lost it to a freggin mage. I don't get it. Was he that damn stupid or what? Or am I wrong, is there some hax coming up in next patch that makes mages need str and def. In that case I'm sorry. But for a bear-druid, that was awesome.
its not 50 defense, its 50 armor. armor benefits everyone, not just feral druids. cloth-wearers do not get much armor, so any cloak, ring, or trinket with armor can come in very handy for them. with armor values being that low, 50 extra armor can add a lot to overall physical damage mitigation.
9 int does help a mage too, but 8 strength doesn't really do anything for them. the bonus is probably better for a feral druid, but it still benefits a mage. its a lot better than running the instance 20 times just to get the perfect bonuses on it.
Wrong, 50 armor for druids is waay better than for other classes. Dire Bear Form (Shapeshift) Shapeshift into a dire bear, increasing armor contribution from items by 360%.
It's actually +360%, which is 460% of your armour, excluding enchants, buffs, or armour gained from agility. So this ring is worth 230 armour in dire bear form (or moonkin), 253 armour with 5/5 thick hide. There are better rings for armour later in the game (band of the great tortoise, ring of protection, ring of binding, heavy dark iron ring, ring of emperor vek'lor), but for level 42, this is pretty decent.
So far we've goten the 50 armor ring with: Of Eluding +1% dodge +7agi Of Strength +13 str of the Bear +8 sta +9str of the Boar +8spirit +8 str Of the Eagle +8int +8 sta Of the Falcon +8agi + 9int Of the Monkey +8agi +9 sta Of the Owl + 9 int +8 spirit Of the Tiger +9 Agi +8Str Of the Whale +8 Spirit +9Sta
Not what I would have preferred, but still pretty darn useful and nice as a Marksman spec hunter.
And since I know it's coming, yes, I know it'd be better for a mage or warlock or <insert magic using class here>. I wasn't about to pass an awesome ring up, though, and my group was fine with me rolling.

The unique is NOT like the lore tag in EQ. But the unique identifier for DAoC. It indicates that the item's stats were randomly generated. Lore in EQ meant you could only have one of a particular item (but that your version would be identical to someone else's). With unique items, your stats are rarely identical to someone else's version.
Incorrect. Unique means the same thing as Lore did in EQ. Notice that some quest items are tagged Unique (5) or Unique (20), etc; meaning you may have only up to the amount in parentheses on you (usually the amount the item will stack up to).
Items in WoW don't truly have random stats; some items (like most random greens) have different versions (of the Bear, Monkey, Wolf, etc). The same "of the . . ." version of any item will have the same stats, although there is sometimes a minor variation in the amount (+- 1).
Yes, the unique tag is exactly like the lore tag from EQ. And for the most part there doesn't seem to be items that share a similar name in WoW, like Cloak of Flames in EQ. So in that case....I am unsure.

There goes the last DJ, who says what he wants to say, who plays what he wants to play, hey, hey, hey.
This item is granted with random attributes when dropped too, (usually +10 to two random attributes), so you never know if it will be any good to you or not. The fight is enough fun to do it over and over anyway ^_^

Of ANY type. Thus you can't pick up 1 "of owl" and 1 "of eagle". You could only pick up 1 of them. It would block you from the second one.
Did a run here to help a friend get 2 rings and they couldn't loot it because they had 1 of a different type already.
+8str, +9 int, +50 def
