Harry's had a chequered relationship with the UK's gutter press. From rampant playboy making strip-poker based jig-a-jig with naughty ladies in Las Vegas and being a loveable ne'erdowell, he's been rehabilitated through his impressive work for injured veterans (Invictus games and some very frank and open interviews about depression and mental health). Not to mention going on the front line with his unit in Afghanistan.
British tabloids have been having a field day with Ms Markle's ethnicity, parentage and even revelations about appearing on a pr0n0 site (some loser uploaded her steamy scenes from Suits to a xxx site). In an unusual twist for the normally taciturn royals, Harry released a statement today which poignantly states:
The Palace wrote:
Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game - it is her life and his.
Given what happened to his Mom when he was 12, this reinforces my belief that some journalists (mainstream and web based) deserve to be boiled in their own fat.
Anywho - I was wondering if this is getting much coverage over in the land of the free (or it's buried in the cripple-fight between the two least electable candidates in history) - and how it's being perceived. Just curious.
